What is the minimum order quantity?
First Squid trades in full container loads (FCL) — typically one 20-foot reefer container (approximately 18-20 metric tonnes net) as a minimum order. For some species and origins, we can accommodate smaller volumes on consolidated shipments — contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
How quickly can you deliver?
Delivery times depend on origin, destination and vessel availability. Typical transit times range from 2 weeks (Morocco to Spain) to 6-8 weeks (New Zealand or Peru to Europe). We provide full shipment timeline estimates in every quote.
What documents do you provide?
Every shipment includes: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Health Certificate, Catch Certificate, Certificate of Origin and cold chain temperature records. Additional documents (Halal, FDA Prior Notice, phytosanitary) provided for specific markets.
Can I request samples before ordering?
Yes. For new buyers, we can arrange product samples from our supplier network before placing a commercial order. Sample costs and logistics are discussed case by case.
Do you offer CIF or FOB pricing?
We quote both FOB (origin port) and CIF (destination port) depending on buyer preference. We work with experienced reefer freight forwarders and can arrange full logistics door-to-cold-store if required.
What payment terms do you offer?
Standard payment terms are Letter of Credit (L/C) or Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) against documents. Payment terms are discussed and agreed on a case-by-case basis depending on the buyer relationship and order volume.
